Scrabble letter values
Every tile in standard English Scrabble has a fixed point value. The rarer the letter, the more it is worth.

| 3 | B C M P |
| 4 | F H V W Y |

How Scrabble scoring works
Add the tiles. Start by summing the value of every letter in the word you played.
Letter premiums first. A double-letter (2L) or triple-letter (3L) square multiplies just the tile sitting on it, and it’s applied before any word multiplier.
Then word premiums. A double-word (2W) or triple-word (3W) square multiplies the whole word’s total. Cover two word squares at once and they stack — a play across two double-word squares is ×4.
Add the bingo bonus. Use all seven tiles in one turn for an extra 50 points, added after the multipliers.

Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate a Scrabble score?
Add up the point value of each letter tile in your word. Then apply any premium squares: a double- or triple-letter square multiplies that one tile, and a double- or triple-word square multiplies the whole word's total. If you use all seven of your tiles in one turn, add a 50-point bingo bonus.
How much is each letter worth in Scrabble?
A, E, I, O, U, L, N, S, T and R are 1 point; D and G are 2; B, C, M and P are 3; F, H, V, W and Y are 4; K is 5; J and X are 8; and Q and Z are 10 points each. Blank tiles are worth 0.
What is the 50-point bonus?
Playing all seven tiles from your rack in a single turn is called a bingo (or a bango). It earns a 50-point bonus on top of the word's score. The calculator adds it automatically when your word uses exactly seven tiles.
How do blank tiles score?
A blank tile can stand in for any letter, but it is always worth 0 points — even on a double- or triple-letter square. Tap a tile in the calculator to mark it as a blank.
